Late night air-horn blaster arrested in El Segundo.

A man who’s been driving around El Segundo, Calif. for weeks blasting an air horn in the middle of the night has finally been arrested Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.

In the last few weeks police have received tons of calls from around the city because a man in a blue four-door compact car has been blaring an air horn in the middle of the night.

Officers in El Segundo heard an air horn heard an air horn on the west side of town and promptly investigated the annoyance.

There they found a blue four-door Chevrolet Aveo and made a traffic stop around Grand Avenue and Main Street.

John W. Nuggent was inside the vehicle and officers found to have air horn equipment.

Nuggent was then taken out the car, was charged and arrested for disturbing the peace, and had his car impounded.

“Several El Segundo residents, who were alleged victims of the air horn noise, responded to the scene and initiated a citizen’s arrest on Nuggent,” the police department said.

What’s comical to some can be an annoyance to others and the residents of El Segundo were not happy to be waken up in the middle of the night by someone blasting an air horn.

Blaring an air horn in the middle of the night while others are trying to sleep is not funny and extremely inappropriate.

With everything that’s been happening recently in this county stress levels are very high, having someone cause a ruckus like this in the middle of the night is the least bit funny.

We don’t know whether the man is still in jail or has been set free, there are no reports of him being a violent threat towards citizens, police, or himself.

We also don’t know if the man has had previous offenses.

Police are unsure why Nuggent would do something like this, possibly trying to be funny?

Maybe Nuggent took pleasure annoying others, luckily after weeks of calls police finally were able to catch the man responsible for disturbing the community.
